i really liked this, i wasn't initially ready for a "restart the whole thing until you do really well" so it threw me for a bit. ended up with something like 650 seconds clear time, 11 death, 2500 green energy. and not having to listen to Reagan from across the map is one of the greatest feelings in the world.

for some reason, the web version seems to detect my X button as Y, and Y as X. for reference, i'm using a Steam Controller that was getting mapped to a standard XInput gamepad. A and B weren't swapped.

the  standalone Linux version doesn't exhibit this problem, so i don't know what it might be. unfortunately, i don't have a standard XInput controller to test with.

I'm so happy to hear people beating the game, I'm happy you enjoyed it :)

The controller problem X/Y swap has been reported, but is not something I've been able to to reproduce yet. If you don't mind answering, do you have a 2015 or a 2026 Steam Controller, and what browser+OS did you play on?

i have the 2026 Steam Controller, playing through Firefox 153.0.1 on Arch Linux. testing a DualShock 4 worked fine

edit: i left my old SN30 plugged in for long enough for it to turn on, and it works fine there.

completed this with like 1600 seconds on the clock, and 938 of the green stuff. very fun little thing!

the biggest issue for me was the keyboard controls --- they were completely nonsensical to me (as a ZXC+arrow keys traditionalist) and kept tripping me up the entire game. Also, the X key did not toggle missiles for me (I had to use E for that).

Awesome, I'm happy to hear :D

I'm taking that feedback into consideration- keyboard control changes were a last-minute change incorporating playtester feedback. (Originally they were just shift, ctrl, space, etc- this lead to playtesters hitting Ctrl+W, for example!) I've added keyboard control fixes on the slate for the next build!

Pretty solid for what it is I just wasn't a fan of the no save premise. Or rather if there are gonna be no saves I wish things like the escape were more clear. I sort of just wandered having no idea where to go then died. Maybe make that a linear sequence so there's no confusion bc as is I'd have to replay the whole thing just to try a new path to guess where to go. Also Kelp died before I ever saw them. I just got a notification they died randomly

I appreciate the feedback! I'll try to reproduce the latter glitch especially, since that shouldn't happen. I've added it to the devlog for changes to make

I humbly request that you put something funny like "Kelp will no longer spontaneously lose the will to live" in patch notes please

Playtesting quick fixes: Linux download works now, performance improvements and misc changes, audio enabled for Kemp. :-)

Another quick fix: Shootable blocks now respond to missile and ball explosions!

Quick fix 3: Difficulty rebalance

Quick fix 4:  Clarify title entry

Quick fix 5: Build tools set up, for lickity-split pushes. Will make it feasible to release Mac builds, eventually
